2022 State Youth Championships – Cancellation

Good Morning All,

Due to the current weather conditions the 2022 Queensland state youth championships have been officially cancelled.

The Carnival committee has met and taken into account the following items:

Emergency Warnings issued by Government agencies
Limited Emergency Services capability in local area
Local Disaster Management group has been activated, which includes SLSQ Sunshine Coast personnel
Sunshine Coast Regional Council advice in regards to closure of all Beaches and local travel

Whilst the carnival committee understands the amount of work and training that competitors have put in to get to this event, with the current weather conditions the carnival committee was left with little choice other than to cancel the event.

We sincerely thank all Officials and clubs for their support and patience over the last few days whilst the respective committees worked through the decisions that have been made.

We ask that you please take into consideration current warnings and road closures when planning your travel home.
